Watercolor
In this bright and beautiful painting Alicia experimented with watercolors on traditional Chinese rice paper using Chinese and Western watercolor paints. Her brush strokes were absorbed instantly by the delicate fibers of this difficult medium. Fibers from the inner bark of woody plants such as kozo (mulberry), mitsumata, and gampi, and the outer layer of herbaceous plants such as flax, hemp, and jute, are used in manufacturing wide varieties of rice paper. Between the trees above the strolling couple one can see the fibers of some of these plants embedded in the paper creating a unique perspective. This painting would improve any room in your home or office and bring warmth to your soul when you wanted to gaze and walk down the forest path with your best girl.
