Watercolor
Monhegan's Red House has been painted by many famous artists dating back over 100 years. The Red House was built sometime in the 1780’s and is now owned by a couple from Germany. Alicia captured the enveloping fog, lobster boats, gazebo porch, dramatic ocean hues, and Manana Island as if you were standing there on the beach yourself. You can almost hear the gulls squaking as they fly over the protected harbor. When you gaze at the boats rocking in the light swell, the time of the tide appears to be slack with little tension on their mooring lines. Alicia illustrates the harbor boats with great skill and you can clearly see that the sailboat owner left his sail cover off of his mainsail.
